Climate Research Special Issue
Circumpolar Ecosystems in Winter

Publication date: February 23, 1995 (Vol. 5, No. 1)

Co-edited by Peter Scott and Vernon Meentemeyer

The Circumpolar Ecosystems in Winter Program was established to encourage and support research on the many aspects of winter and winter-dominated systems. The collection of papers in this volume is significant in that it represents a sampling of the many topics that have arisen with respect to climate change in winter-dominated regions.

The diversity of subjects covered includes the role of a changing climate in the marine system and the codfish decline, overwintering strategies in insects and frogs, snow and climate change studies, and the adaptations of northern peoples to a harsh changing climate.
